Xoaks Pro — Getting Started
Create account → verify phone → complete profile → job stories → orders · www.xoaks.com/pro
Overview — what you will do
- Create your XoaksPro contractor account
- Verify your cell phone
- Complete Edit profile (photo, company, about, areas, skills, gallery)
- Save to cloud and turn Online ON
- Publish your first job story
- Watch Orders for customer Call / Text / Book requests
Step 1: Create your XoaksPro account
Go to the pro sign-up page
- Open www.xoaks.com/pro and click Get started / Sign up, or
- Go directly to www.xoaks.com/pro/auth/signup
The sign-up page is titled Create XoaksPro account. Returning contractors should use Sign in to XoaksPro — do not create a second account.
Fill in the sign-up form
- Email and password, or continue with Google
- Complete any fields Clerk asks for (name, etc.)
- You may skip phone on the Clerk screen — you verify your cell number inside Xoaks next
After sign-up you are redirected to Verify phone. If stuck, sign in.
Step 2: Verify your phone
Phone verification is required before you can go Online and appear in customer search.
- On Verify phone, enter your cell number (US, 10 digits) and tap Continue (or Save phone if you change it later)
- On the code screen, enter the verification code (see launch demo mode below)
- Tap Verify & continue — you reach the Pro dashboard
Direct link: /pro/auth/verify
Skip for now: You can skip verification and open the dashboard, but you cannot turn Online ON until your phone is verified. Use Profile → Verify your phone when you are ready.
Step 3: Why a complete profile matters
Customers find you on the map and search, on service + city pages (e.g. walk-in cooler repair in Sherman Oaks), and on your public profile. A full profile builds trust, shows what you do, and makes Call / Text / Book more likely. An incomplete profile may not show up well when customers search your area.
Step 4: Fill your full profile
Go to Pro portal → Edit profile and complete each section.
4a. Profile photo
- Upload a clear headshot or company logo
- Customers see this in search cards and on your public profile
- Click Save to cloud when done
4b. Personal & company info (required)
- First name and Last name (private — for your account)
- Nickname / Display name — what customers see
- Company name
- Phone & email — used for Call/Text
- Business address (street, city/ZIP + state) — sets your map pin
Click Save to cloud. Some fields are private (verification); others are visible on your public page.
4c. About your company
- Write a short company description (up to 2,000 characters)
- Shown on your public profile under About
- Text displays as full-width justified paragraphs on your public page
4d. Service areas
- Your home city (above) is your base on the map
- Add every extra city or ZIP you serve (up to 10)
- Example: Sherman Oaks, 91423, Studio City, 91604
- Extra areas expand where customers find you; they do not move your map pin
4e. Skills & services
- Select your trades: HVAC, appliances, plumbing, electrical, etc.
- Pick subcategories you actually do (e.g. walk-in cooler, refrigerator repair)
- These skills determine which service + city landing pages you can appear on
4f. Pricing (optional but helpful)
Hourly rate, service fee, or hide pricing — sets expectations before contact.
4g. Work gallery
- Upload real job photos (before/after, equipment, completed work)
- Up to 100 photos; on mobile upload 2–3 at a time if save is slow
- All saved photos are stored in the cloud — after sign-out/sign-in they reload from your account
- Public profile shows your 5 most recent photos
- Click Save to cloud and wait for Saved to cloud (may take 30–60 seconds for many photos)
4h. Save to cloud
When you are done editing any section, click Save to cloud at the top of Edit profile. One button saves text, photo, gallery, map pin, and service areas.
Step 5: Go online & check your public page
-
Go to Profile and turn Online ON to appear on the map and search.
You may also appear on service + city pages (e.g.
/services/walk-in-cooler-repair/sherman-oaks) when your skills and service area match. - Copy your Profile link (Share with clients) for Google Business Profile or email
- Open your public page in incognito and confirm photo, About, skills, and gallery
- Check your jobs completed count — published job stories show prominently on your profile header and in the Track record section (especially helpful before you have customer reviews)
Job stories — what they are and why you need them
A Job story is a real completed job you document with short notes and photos. Xoaks turns it into a local SEO page that helps customers and Google find you for that service + city.
| Benefit | What it does for you |
|---|---|
| Local SEO | Ranks for searches like “commercial cooler repair Sherman Oaks” |
| Proof of work | Real photos beat an empty profile |
| Trust | Customers see you’ve done this job before |
| More visibility | Published stories add to your jobs completed count on search cards and your public profile |
| Free marketing | One story = one permanent page on xoaks.com/repairs/… |
Job stories do not auto-post to Google Business Profile, but they support your GMB and website SEO.
How to create a job story
Pro portal → Job stories → Document completed job
Add short notes and photos. Xoaks builds the SEO draft — you review before publishing.
| Field | What to write |
|---|---|
| Category / subcategory | e.g. Commercial → Walk-in cooler |
| Brand(s) | True, Hoshizaki, Turbo Air, etc. |
| Job context (short) | Why they called — age, PM vs emergency, reopening |
| Work performed (short) | Inspection, coil cleaning, parts replaced, tests |
| Job city / ZIP | e.g. Venice, 90291 |
| Service area cities (optional) | Venice, Santa Monica, Culver City, Los Angeles |
| Photos | 1–10 real job photos (JPG best) |
Click Generate SEO / GEO Draft → review title, summary, FAQs → Approve & publish.
Edit or remove a job story
- Open the job story from Job stories → click Edit job story to change notes, SEO text, or photos (remove with ×, upload replacements; at least 1 photo required)
- To delete a story entirely, use Remove job story at the bottom of the story page (this removes the public SEO page too)
Rules
- Real jobs only — accurate city/ZIP and real photos
- No private customer info in photos (or get permission)
- Up to 5 job stories per 24 hours
- Save your pro profile first — stories link to your listing
Good habit
Publish one job story per city you serve. After a few weeks you’ll have local pages across your service area.
Orders & customer leads
Customer requests from your public profile land in Pro portal → Orders.
| Channel | What you see |
|---|---|
| Call | Customer tapped Call on your profile — may open their phone app to dial you |
| Text | Customer tapped Text — may open their messaging app |
| Book | Customer submitted a booking request with preferred date/time — usually includes phone and email |
When the customer phone shows “number not shared”
If a customer uses Call or Text from their phone app and did not have a phone number saved in their Xoaks account, Orders may show:
This is normal — the site cannot read their number from a direct phone link. Check your recent calls or texts for their number, or ask them to use Book next time (Book requests include contact details when the customer provides them).
You can Edit any lead to add the customer’s phone after you reach them, and Add to client list to keep track.
