Privacy Policy
Effective: June 20, 2026
This Policy reflects our current MVP features and California/US privacy requirements. Have a qualified attorney review it before a full public launch.
Techmeeting LLC ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information when you use Xoaks.com and related services operated under the Xoaks brand (the "Platform"). Xoaks.com is a product and brand operated by Techmeeting LLC. A separate Xoaks company may be formed in the future; if that occurs, these documents will be updated and users may be notified as required by law. By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. Scope and roles
This Policy applies to customers, service professionals (“Pros” or “Contractors”), and visitors who use the Platform.
Techmeeting LLC acts as a “business” under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and as a “controller” or “business” under other U.S. state privacy laws where applicable. When a customer contacts a Pro, the Pro may also process that customer’s information as an independent business responsible for their own compliance obligations.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three main ways:
- Information you provide — name, email, phone number, password (stored in hashed form when full authentication is enabled), business name (DBA, LLC, S-corp, etc.), service address, profile photos, gallery images, skills, pricing, messages, booking requests, reviews, and support communications.
- Information from your use of the Platform — search queries (location, zip, service category), device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP or zip, and cookies or similar technologies.
- Information from third parties — phone verification providers, geocoding services, analytics providers, and publicly available business registry sources when we verify Pro listings.
3. Sensitive and verification information
We may collect phone numbers for verification and customer contact. If we implement identity verification, we may temporarily collect government ID images solely to verify a Pro’s identity and address. We do not intend to keep ID images long-term; they should be deleted after manual review or within a short retention period (for example, 24 hours after approval), as described at collection.
We may store verification status flags (such as phone verified, address verified) and, when enabled, a one-way cryptographic hash of an ID document number to help prevent duplicate accounts — not the readable ID number or image after deletion.
4. How we use information
- Operate the Platform — accounts, search, maps, profiles, leads/orders inbox, and online status.
- Connect customers and Pros — display listings, route call/text/book requests, and show relevant categories.
- Verify and trust — phone verification, manual address/identity review, fraud prevention, and duplicate-account detection.
- Improve and secure — analytics, debugging, customer support, and enforcing our Terms.
- Communications — service messages, verification codes, and (with consent where required) marketing about Xoaks.
- Legal compliance — respond to lawful requests and protect rights, safety, and property.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information as long as needed to provide the Platform, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Leads and booking requests are stored in our server database so Pros can manage orders across devices.
Some Pro profile settings may also be stored locally in your browser during beta periods; syncing to our servers occurs when you save profile, gallery, skills, or listing data.
Verification documents, when collected, are deleted after review or within a limited window as stated at upload. Verification flags and timestamps may be retained after deletion of the document.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Platform is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided information, contact xoakscom@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have the following rights, subject to exceptions:
- Right to know — categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, sources, purposes, and disclosures.
- Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out — of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do not sell personal information for money; if practices change, we will provide an opt-out).
- Right to limit — use of sensitive personal information where applicable.
- Right to non-discrimination — for exercising privacy rights.
11. Exercising your rights
To submit a privacy request, email xoakscom@gmail.com with enough information to verify your identity (name, account email, and whether you are a customer or Pro). We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 45 days for California requests, with possible extension).
You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf where permitted by law.
California Shine the Light: California residents may request information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes once per year, if applicable.
12. Other U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of certain processing. Submit requests to xoakscom@gmail.com. We will honor applicable rights as required by law in your state.
13. SMS and calls
If you provide a phone number, you may receive verification codes and service-related texts or calls. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of marketing texts where offered; service and verification messages may still be sent as permitted by law.
Call and text buttons on Pro profiles may open your device’s native phone or messaging apps; those communications occur between you and the Pro and may be logged as leads on our Platform.
14. U.S. focus
The Platform is operated from the United States and intended for U.S. users. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., you consent to processing in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your country.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the revised Policy with a new effective date. Material changes may require additional notice where required by law.
